Join our 6-hour workshop, split into two 3-hour sessions, to quickly learn machine sewing, garment alterations, and pattern reading. This crash course compresses our individual classes into one intensive experience.

Our studio sews with Brother® computerized sewing machines. You’re welcome to use one of our studio machines or you can even bring your own functioning personal machine to get better acquainted with it. 

Class 1 Details:

We'll cover the basics of sewing machine operation, including threading, basic stitches, fabric handling, and sewing techniques. You'll also practice alteration finishing methods.

Class 2 Details:

Will focus on garment alterations and pattern reading. You’ll learn how to measure for alterations, adjust garment fit, and interpret pattern symbols and markings.

Dates & Times:

Weekends | 9AM-12PM

Requirements:

No previous sewing machine experience and knowledge is required to attend.

For class 1: No supplies needed. You’re welcome to bring your patterned project if you have it for the following class to show the instructor.

For class 2: Please bring a simple project to hem and a simple commercial pattern (We suggest not to bring a printable PDF pattern), fabric, and supplies for your patterned project. You may not start cutting your fabric for your pattern project during this class. Instead, we will guide you on how to begin these projects on your own. You can join us for additional guidance in the studio at a later date.
