Serger Sewing Basics
In this two-hour, one-time Serger Basics class, you will learn key skills and techniques for using a serger effectively.
Our studio sews with Brother® serger machines. You’re welcome to use one of our studio's machines or you can even bring your own functioning personal machine to get better acquainted with it.
Class Details:
Serger Overview: Learn the different parts of a serger, their functions, and how to use them safely.
Threading and Setup: Practice threading the serger, winding threads, and setting the tension properly.
Serging Stitches: Explore the basic stitches your serger offers and how to use them.
Fabric Handling: Understand how to choose the right threads and needles for different fabrics and adjust settings accordingly.
Serging Techniques: Practice sewing straight seams, curves, and finishing edges.
Troubleshooting: Learn how to identify and fix common serger issues like thread breakage and fabric bunching.

Requirements:
1 year previous sewing knowledge is required to take our Serger Sewing Basics class. No fabric or thread or tools needed to attend this class. This class includes all supplies.
Students will not sew a completed project a project in this class.
